Developing Small Scale Businesses
Are you tired of projects with a short-term impact such as food distribution? You want to get involved in a meaningful project on the longterm?
Let’s develop Small Sustainable Businesses together. You can help locals (especially women and the youth) to fight unemployment issues by making their own business. There are many businesses that PDS supports, such as Handmade Soap, Cake Decoration, Henna, Tailoring & Dress Making and so on…
Work With Children
Do you like children? This program is made for you. Teach children from 3 to 12 different subjects in the Nursery-School of Unguja Island or Pemba Island. If you are a teacher, help to organize and develop these schools. Enjoy indoor and outdoor activities to develop the creativity of the local children. You will go to school at 7am and go back at 13pm. After lunch, get some rest and join other afternoon community programs.
Cultural Exchange Programs
You like to share your culture and to discover new ones? This program is made for you. You can be a cooking-lover, an artist, a fan of sport or just a curious guy interested in art and history of another culture. In this program, you will organize workshops, teach and so on, but you will also join traditional activities of the community such as henna, make-up or cooking. Let’s dive into the heart of a new culture!
Developing Community Leadership
You have an experience in leadership and management in general or in NGO’s management specifically and you want to share your knowledge? You are a leader, manager, web developer, computer engineer, accountant and so on, join this program to help the community and organizations in Zanzibar. Work with adults, students and/or children to develop their leadership skills and help them to manage their business or organization.
